Our F-U-N in the O-B-X

The week after Labor Day the Hebert's decided to take a trip to the Outer Banks to bid a final farewell to the summer. Although Hurricane Earl threatened to cancel our trip, in the end we were blessed with low humidity, low 80's and low population on the beach ~ thanks Earl!!!

We had a great time and spent the week visiting the sites in the area that we had never explored before Tristan's arrival.

We went to the Wright Bros Memorial which was cool and we went to the Elizabethan Gardens on Roanoke Island which was Tristan's favorite because he loves trees and flowers!

My favorite activity was a sunset trip to Jockey's Ridge, big sand dunes. It was so peaceful and a gorgeous view of the ocean and the sound was practically ours alone.

One thing we learned as new parents is that from now on pictures of family time will rarely consist of the whole family as one of us has to take the picture. So, we tried to make sure each of us took a few turns at the lens, even Tristan took a picture from his stroller! ; )

Luckily, Aunt Jen came for a night so we have a few pictures of the three of us!

We look forward to next year when Tristan will be walking on the beach, building sandcastles and playing in the waves! But this was a memorable and awesome first trip!
